Christmas 2009

We had a great Christmas this year. We had a very nice home Christmas this year. After the kids open thier presents we relaxed for a while at home. Then we walked over to the Aumiller's where the kids had some gifts. The Aumiller's got the new baby a Sit and Stand stroller and car seat. We let the kids play and enjoyed a lunch of ham and veggies.

After that we went home and got freshen up and the we enjoyed a very nice family dinner with our friends the Short's. Colby's parents were there as well as one of the single soldiers.

So by the time we got home it was the kids bedtime. The kids got up the next morning to enjoy their new toys, candy and movies.

I was nice to be home together. While we missed our family back home. We got to enjoy each other in a new way.

Our "Charlie Brown" Christmas tree

This is our first Christmas tree. I bought it several years for $10 dollars. David says it is scraggly. But after a little TLC it looks a lot better.

I am Thankful....

Another year is coming to a close and we have so much to be thankful for this year. We all have been healthy. We have a safe and uneventful move to Texas. So far Baby #4 Marshall is healthy and growing. We are going to spend our first quiet Thanksgiving together since David and I got married. We send our love to all our family and friends across the miles.

A Week After

Today is Thursday November 12, 2009. It has been a week since the shootings took place here on Fort Hood. As most of you know our family was safe and out of harm's way. Yet things will forever be changed. My children's lives have returned to normal.

Our prayers go to the many families that were changed last Thursday.

Sirens

We have sirens blaring here on post. They are telling us to stay indoors lock our doors and stay away from the windows. There has been a shooting main post. The school are locked down and my children are home they had a early dismissal. David is not on post today. Several have been killed already many other are wounded. Lilli and Dakota are scared of the sirens. James is concerned for our friend "Shortdawg".

Today is marked in Fort Hood and in Texas history. November 5, 2009, The Fort Hood Massacre.

New Idea

I have decided to start something new. Each Thursday I am going to post a blog. I may have little to say or a lot to say but we shall see what comes about in my family blog.
